Virtual Desktop

Virtual desktop applications open up new ways of working for remote employees or applications requiring access to powerful machines that need to be centrally managed. This use case requires high-performance and ultra-low latency video encoding and transcoding.

Using Codensity™ video processing units, ultra-low latency encoding of full resolution desktops at high quality and low bitrates is now possible for cloud-based virtual desktop applications.

DEPLOY NETINT ASIC-BASED TECHNOLOGY

75% reduction in bitrate over standard-based video encoders

Virtual desktop platforms and applications require a video encoding solution that offers both low-latency and high visual quality at 4K resolution. NETINT’s ASIC-powered technology offers the only commercially-available transcoders and Video Processing Units (VPUs) able to deliver end-to-end latency of less than 50ms with an operational cost that is 20-40x less than software running on servers in a data center.

With NETINT’s Quadra series video processing units and the AV1 codec standard, support for screen content coding provides a 75% reduction in bitrate over standard video encoders and standards.

NETINT VPU’s are available in U.2 or PCIe form factors, enabling ten or more video transcoders to be installed in a single 1U server. A typical 1RU configuration can encode up to 40 4Kp60 concurrent computing sessions, making them ideal for latency-sensitive applications like VDI (Virtual Desktop).

We Are The Only Existing Solution

The ASIC Advantage

We are the only immediately implementable ASICs technology-based solution that once deployed can transport your video technology to unforeseen levels.

“We started NETINT with a big dream of combining the benefits of silicon with the quality and the flexibility of software for video encoding using purpose-built ASICs designed by us. In just 2021 NETINT customers encoded 200 billion minutes using our innovative video processing units.”
